Off The Wall est le 5e album solo de Michael Jackson, paru en 1979.

Après 4 albums de la période Motown, Michael Jackson se détache de l'univers familial pour prendre son envol. Sorti une semaine avant le 21e anniversaire de Michael, Off The Wall est le 1er album solo de Michael Jackson en tant qu'adulte, son 1er chez le label Epic, et sa 1re collaboration avec le légendaire producteur Quincy Jones.

Off The Wall mélange harmonieusement funk, disco, pop et soul, créant ainsi un album inoubliable, dévoilant au passage l'étendue de la voix du chanteur.

Off The Wall a non seulement fait de Michael Jackson une star, mais aussi a battu des records. À cette époque, ce disque a été le premier, pour un artiste solo, à obtenir 4 Top 10. Ce record a par la suite été battu par Michael Jackson lui-même.

Le 1er titre de l'album "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" est entièrement chanté en falsetto. Le mid-tempo aux synthétiseurs funky "Rock With You" est resté 4 semaines n°1 aux USA.
